AI in its current state cannot take place of a programmer's job involving creative work but I can't say that for writers since I can't distinguish which part is written by a human and which part by ChatGPT :).

In general, I think the next couple of decades will define the limits what AI is capable of. Right now, we are seeing arguments for both sides of the coin if it is going to be intelligent enough to compete against humans.

I believe it is hard , if not impossible, to predict the future. Unlike traditional technology, AI is getting better exponentially. IMO AI can defiently outperform humans in writing efficient code. As I said in the post, humans role will merely be of an supervisor.

This means that humans productivity will increase significantly and as a result many people at early career stage will become dispensable.

I also believe, we don't need to wait for decade. The AI is already outperforming humans in certain domains; games, drug discovery, pattern recognition etc. For me the question is not about intelligence (and consciousness) because we cannot compete with the speed and scale of computers. I am more concerned about the future in general.

When dangers of AI are discussed, it is more of the AI's aspect where it has evolved enough to operate without the need of a human supervisor. I am not an expert on this subject matter so can't describe how it would look like but one example I can think of is when an AI agent decides to spread a propaganda on the internet about a particular topic without involving a human input.

Regarding AI replacing the early career stage jobs, I believe the early career stage individuals will also benefit from AI. It's just that the capabilities of early stage career individual will increase and different from what we see now and AI not necessarily dispensing them.

I agree. Honestly speaking I am not a futurist, so it is hard to say what will happen. All I know is that fundamentals are important. As an engineer, I am focusing on learning new technologies and getting better at fundamentals.
